我相信積極約束中國的作用。這些約束將實現美國國會為改善中國在人權和民主自由狀況方面應盡的義務。做為一名國會議員，我將繼續使用我的投票權用貿易手段來改善人權和其他方面。我相信我們必須幫助改善中國及全世界人民的基本人權。

我聯署了國會68號決議案，表達了美國國會的立場。要求中國政府停止鎮壓所有的宗教修煉者並保護他們的基本人權。並且敦促中國政府釋放所有被關押的法輪功修煉者和其他良心犯。

To the Regional Falun Gong Experience Sharing Conference:

Congratulations to the Falun Dafa Association on your Regional Falun Gong Experience Sharing Conference. I salute you for your struggle for basic human rights in China.

I believe in active engagement with China, engagement that fulfills the responsibility of the United States Congress to try to improve Chinese behavior on human rights and democratic freedoms. As a member of Congress, I will continue to use my vote on trade measures as leverage on human rights and other issues. I believe that we must engage not just China but all nations to uphold basic human rights.

I am a cosponsor of House Concurrent Resolution 68, which would express the sense of the Congress that the Government of the People』s Republic of China should stop persecution of all religious practitioners and safeguard fundamental human rights; and urges the Chinese Government to release from detention all Falun Gong practitioners and prisoners of conscience.

Once again, congratulations on your Falun Gong Experience Sharing Conference. Please accept my best wishes for a successful conference.
